If you set a goal, not grounded in a solid base of heart-felt self-awareness, of what’s really important to you, you are maybe just setting yourself what I call a “marshmallow goal”.
A ‘marshmallow goal’ is a goal that’s wobbly and artificial. A goal that is soft in construction. The goal will melt or get squashed once the heat is turned up or pressure applied. The idea of a ‘marshmallow goal’ feels, smells and tastes sweet. It’s a ‘nice’ goal to have. A ‘hey look, I’ve set a goal, tick for me’ kind of goal. The result is a short-lived energy boost. It may give immediate gratification. You’ll feel the ‘drop’ not long after you begin. It’s of no long-term benefit.
