“Writing asks us to be awake and settle inside of ourselves.”

Do you practice journalling? Daily? Regularly? On Holidays? Not at all?
I personally have found journalling to be a very powerful and centring practice. My practice is to journal in the morning, after breakfast, in that quiet space between having the house in order and starting my business/creative project etc of the day. On holidays I slip outside at sunrise to listen to the morning roosters (I need to get back to Ubud), and journal while the surrounding villages rustle themselves awake, and Tom enjoys a sleep-in.
Journalling can be good for your emotional, physical, psychological and spiritual health. Expressive writing is a proven way to reduce stress and lower the risk for burnout.
Sharing with you 10 Transformational Journalling Tips from the International Association of Journal Writing.

Transformational journalling can really help you thrive.
Whilst I was typing this I realised too that the other fun part of journalling is choosing your own look, feel and style of journal. That’s also important and makes you feel at peace to start your journalling practice regularly.
I had a quick look online at Amazon, Booktopia and in the department stores there are plenty of beautiful choices, Kikki K comes to mind.
My own journal, pictured here, (gee it came out big – don’t know how to make this photo smaller sorry)! It is a little rustic, scratched, loved up. It has travelled many countries, has held many inserts of journal pages. I bought it from a stall-holder at Byron Bay markets back in 2012. The stone is the “Black Obsidian”.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you’d like to discuss your journalling practices and how it works with coaching.
