At the beginning of Covid-19 times, I introduced a mini 6-week 8-module Personal Coaching Program focused on “Balance and Self-Care” to support people struggling with stress, overwhelm and feeling disconnection.
Not being able to see family and friends impacted many people in our communities, being less active with lockdowns, on top of the fear spread by the media, it all had a short and now lingering impact on many of our lives: physically, mentally and socially.
The program was about establishing some balance and self-care actions when soldiering on was feeling a little too exhausting!
We live in a society that loves achievement, qualifications, status and success.
Many people work themselves extremely hard to get there – ignoring what their bodies and minds are telling them. But what’s the point of success, a great career – if you’re always stressed, overwhelmed, don’t see much of your family and friends, or are grumpy and tired when you do see them?
Sadly, life balance and self-care are often seen as “soft” requirements – something high achievers don’t (or shouldn’t) need.
We get the message we should just be able to soldier on through illness and stress. We are told that if we simply book a holiday, go on a weekend break, have a bubble bath or sleep in on Sundays – all will be well again!
After all, a successful person should have this under control and too much self-care is a sign of weakness or perhaps selfish or indulgent.
Well, as a personal coach and recovered ‘high achiever’, I know that this isn’t the case.
I look at the whole person, the whole life in context. I know that without self-care and life balance that life can be pretty miserable and lack joy and substance.
What are your current needs? Where is your energy being drained? Are you too comfortable and going nowhere – or are you constantly pushing yourself so that “comfort” or “balance” is a passing thought before you through yourself into the melee again?
Put yourself first for a moment. Do you take good care of yourself? Because all changes starts with you.
I’ve collated a list of SELF-CARE 5-MINUTE MINDFUL TIME-OUTS in this PDF download you are more than welcome to take, print, and place where you can easily access it – your bathroom mirror, your journal, or your fridge door are perfect homes for this 1-pager.
COME JOIN ME FOR A 6-WEEK COACHING PROGRAM
We will assess your balance and self-care needs, identify what’s getting in the way and help you enjoy your life more!
The program includes the following modules:
Section 1: We will Assess your Current Balance and Self-Care Levels
Balance and Self-Care Background including personal assessment tools, quizzes and exercises to help us ease into the work together.
Section 2: What are your Specific Self-Care Needs?
We’ll explore your Energy Zappers, your Relationships (healthy or otherwise); and review your Self-Care and Needs.
Section 3: Taking Action and Setting Boundaries
A powerful program in itself, is the Power of No! Understanding your current beliefs on this topic, establishing what you do want to say Yes or No to as you move forward, and practicing scripts to take back in your own life so you feel empowered to prioritise your own needs and time to do what is important to you.
Section 4: Wrapping Up
We’ll end with some exercises on helping you “Let Go” of what no longer serves you.
- You will receive plenty of tips, information and a workbook.
- You will have access to a personal coaching dashboard during the program.
- There will be some pre-coaching session work; you will have access to me via the dashboard for ‘just in time’ check-ins if you need them between sessions; and after each session you will receive progress reviews to see how far you’ve come in the short time of 6-weeks.
Book a Discovery Call and let’s talk about Your Balance and Self-Care program, or other packages I have that may suit you as well.
The ripple effect of change begins with you!
Take care of yourself,
Susan
